Choices and Jamestown, 1607-1610
_ This unit covers the first
years of the English settlement at Jamestown (1607-1610). During these
years the settlers endured many hardships, many of
which could have been prevented had the settlers made wiser decisions.
Unit Objectives:
Students will learn about the early days of the settlement, the decisions that were made and their resulting consequences, and finally will end with the students writing a letter to the Virginia Company from the perspective of a settler with a discussion of the problems the settlers faced and suggestions for what could have been done differently.
